What This Job Is

Service rigs and snubbing units. Heavier iron than a truck shop.

Diesel, electrical and hydraulic, plus engine and transmission swaps when a unit needs one. Drill press, grinder and metalworking to make a part the catalog doesn't carry, and welding on frames, skids and tanks.

Shop and field both. 8 to 12 hour days, and you go when something goes down.

Welding and fabrication are a plus here, not a requirement.

Duties

Heavy diesel work on service rigs, snubbing units and the ancillary equipment.
Primarily a FIELD position - Fortis says you are in the field the majority of the time.
Hands-on with Cat, Detroit Diesel and Cummins.
Routine scheduled maintenance across the fleet.
Diagnosing by sight and sound, tearing down to get at defective parts, testing and adjusting until it runs.
Complex repair work including swapping engines and transmissions.
Hydraulic systems, and basic 12V electrical.
Drill press, grinder and metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
Welding on machinery frames, skids and tanks.
8 to 12 hour days. Responds to emergencies and coordinates onsite repairs.
Coordinating with management on repairs and refurbs, and calling failures before they happen.

Where You'd Be

Powder River Basin, out of Casper, Wyoming. Oil-side workover, completions, maintenance and plugging.

Fortis Energy Services runs this yard at 4400 10 Mile Road, Casper, Wyoming.

Starts at $28 an hour and moves with experience. Bonus opportunity on every seat.

Local hires only. Fortis is taking hands who already live in or near Casper. No relocation assistance either way, so travel, a room and fuel are yours until you land on a rig that carries per diem.

What You Need

Heavy diesel experience. Fortis lists maintenance, repair, safety and welding as the keys to this seat. Welding experience preferred, but not required. Must be 18 or older. PEC or Well Control a plus, not required.
