What This Job Is

Hot oil out of Wayne’s shop in Watford City. Every job is local to McKenzie County, so there are no long trips.

You heat oil or treatment fluid and run it through tubing, casing and flow lines, vessels and oil storage tanks. You pressure test wells and load tubing to keep them pumping, run your own jobs and keep your invoicing done daily.

Hot oil runs 7 days a week on 2 schedules: 3 weeks on and 1 off, or 10 days on and 4 off.

It takes a Class A or B CDL with a tanker endorsement. Wayne’s prefers a Class A because they pull pup trailers. Their insurance needs 2 years on a CDL, and no oilfield experience is needed. If they train you, pay starts at $30/hr.

Duties

Heat oil or other treatment fluids and hook up to the right valves and fittings.
Hot oil tubing, casing and flow lines, vessels and treating oil storage tanks.
Pressure test wells and load tubing to keep wells pumping.
Run your assigned jobs, keep your invoicing done daily and communicate with customers properly and promptly.
Service the truck daily to company standards and work with the mechanic on scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
Drive a commercial truck in every kind of road condition, plus other duties dispatch assigns.

Where You’d Be

Watford City, North Dakota. Wayne’s Trucking Inc. got its start in 1996 and runs hot oil trucks and water haulers out of its shop in Watford City.

$30 to $38 an hour, depending on experience. If they train you, it starts at $30.

3 weeks on and 1 off, or 10 days on and 4 off.

Live in the Watford City area, or move there, before your first day. There is no company housing.

What You Need

A Class A or B CDL, Class A preferred since they pull pup trailers
A tanker endorsement
2 years on a CDL, for their insurance
No oilfield experience needed
Able to pass a background check and a drug and alcohol test
Live in or move to the Watford City area before you start
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
