Same location. Same hours. Same bullshit.
One crew makes it fly by. The other makes every minute feel like ten.
Doesn't matter if you're on a drilling rig, frac, coil tubing unit, wireline, or roustabout crew. The job is the job. The people are what change everything.
A good crew covers for each other. A bad crew points fingers when shit goes wrong.
A good supervisor rotates guys out. A bad one plays favorites and runs you into the dirt.
A good hand shows the new guy how it's done. A bad one watches him fuck up and laughs about it at the doghouse.
I've taken less money to work with the right people. I've seen guys quit $35/hr jobs because the crew was trash.
Rig floor, pump down, flowback, hot shot, workover...doesn't matter. The oilfield is hard enough without working next to people who make it worse.
Find a good crew. And when you do, don't fuck it up. That's rarer than $100 oil.
