What This Job Is

Pressure testing lines, vessels, tanks, flowlines and pipe to spec.

You haul and set up the test unit, pumps and fittings yourself. Set the test, pressurize, hold, monitor, then bleed down and isolate safe. Record pressures, temperatures and hold times, because the customer reads the chart.

When a test fails you troubleshoot it in the field and you know when to stop and call it.

You move the test unit yourself, so no CDL means no hydrotester seat. Class B or better, in hand. A Class A covers it.

Duties

Pressure test lines, vessels and flowlines to spec and document the results.
Haul and set up the test unit, pumps and fittings on location.
Work with high pressure water and record charts the customer will read.
Rig up and rig down your own equipment.
Field tickets and test paperwork on every job.

What You Need

Class B CDL or better, 2+ years experience, no automatic restriction, a clean MVR and a drug test. You will likely be hauling the test unit.

Where Hydrotesting Sits

Hydrotesting is one of the quieter seats in this basin and one of the few where a Class B is enough to get started. You are pressure testing lines and vessels and documenting results the customer will actually read, so it rewards someone careful over someone fast.
