This is the seat that hires green.

Mechanic I to Mechanic II to Senior, with training and a hand to learn from. You come in on the tools and work up.

Diesel, electrical and hydraulic on the yard's equipment. You learn API, DOT and OEM inspections and keep the records in their maintenance system.

If you can turn wrenches and want oilfield time, this is the one door on either Fortis yard that opens without it.

Duties

• Entry level seat - Fortis is actively recruiting entry level mechanics for this one. Apply today, they’re hiring quickly.
• A combination of shop and field work.
• Preventative maintenance on diesel engines, trucks, trailers and heavy equipment.
• Assisting with diagnosing and repairing mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Inspecting equipment for wear and damage, tearing down and reassembling under supervision.
• Learning API, DOT and OEM inspections and keeping records in their maintenance system.
• Field repairs alongside experienced techs.

Where You'd Be

Haynesville side, out of Waskom, Texas. Same trade on gas wells instead of oil.

Fortis Energy Services runs this yard at 1268 Magnolia Road, Waskom, Texas.

Starts at $28 an hour and moves with experience. Bonus opportunity on every seat.

Local hires only. Fortis is taking hands who already live within about 1.5 hours of Waskom, and the one exception is a hand bringing a full crew with him, which they will take a look at. No relocation assistance either way, so travel, a room and fuel are yours until you land on a rig that carries per diem.

What You Need

Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn. Fortis provides training and mentorship on a Mechanic I to II to Senior path. Internship or co-op experience counts as a bonus. Welding experience preferred, but not required. Must be 18 or older. PEC or Well Control a plus, not required.
