What This Job Is

Second rung. You've got a season behind you and the crew stops explaining things twice.

Rod wrenches, tongs and elevators, working off the tubing board and the rod basket, pulling and laying down tubing and rods. They'll put you on the controls when the job calls for it.

Same 12 hour shifts, same crew, more of it on you.

Duties

• Advanced level rig hand. Fortis expects advanced working knowledge of the rig, its equipment and the support equipment.
• All elevated work tied to rigging up and rigging down.
• Tubing board work, transferring drill pipe from the vertical racks to the elevator.
• Handling drill pipe, tubing and casing safely on every trip.
• May be put on the rig controls or the floor as the job calls for it.

Where You'd Be

Haynesville side, out of Waskom, Texas. Same trade on gas wells instead of oil.

Fortis Energy Services runs this yard at 1268 Magnolia Road, Waskom, Texas.

Starts at $21 an hour and moves with experience. Bonus opportunity on every seat.

Local hires only. Fortis is taking hands who already live within about 1.5 hours of Waskom, and the one exception is a hand bringing a full crew with him, which they will take a look at. No relocation assistance either way, so travel, a room and fuel are yours until you land on a rig that carries per diem.

What You Need

Real time on a service or workover rig, at least 6 months of direct experience. CDL preferred, not required. Must be 18 or older. PEC or Well Control a plus, not required.
