What This Job Is
Hydrovac work out of TTK’s Watford City yard: digging with pressurized water and vacuuming out the spoil to expose buried utilities, pipelines and cables without damaging them. Full time.
You run the truck and the equipment, keep it maintained, set up traffic control on the site and keep the daily tickets.
It takes a Class B CDL or higher, or a CDL permit, and real time running hydrovac equipment. A tanker endorsement is a plus. TTK has housing available.
Duties
- Run hydrovac trucks and equipment for non-destructive digging: hydro-excavation wands, vacuum hoses and water pumps.
- Dig with pressurized water and vacuum out the spoil to expose underground utilities, pipelines and cables without damaging them.
- Do your pre-trip and post-trip inspections, plus routine maintenance on the truck and equipment: lubrication, fluid checks and minor troubleshooting.
- Set up traffic control, barricades and signs, and keep erosion, runoff and spills in check on the site.
- Fill out the daily tickets and job paperwork for yourself and your crew, and keep the excavation, equipment and inspection records.
- Plan the work with supervisors, utility locators and the crew, and train and support crew members on the equipment.
Where You’d Be
Watford City, North Dakota. TTK Enterprises is a locally owned, family operated outfit founded in 2019, running roustabout, construction, light civil, trucking, contract pumping and hydrovac crews across Western North Dakota.
$27 to $36 an hour.
TTK has housing available if you’re coming from out of the area.
What You Need
- A Class B CDL or higher, or a CDL permit
- Real experience running hydrovac equipment: water pressure, vacuum and excavation speed
- Basic mechanical know-how for routine maintenance on filters, hoses and hydraulics
- A high school diploma or GED is typically required
- A plus: a tanker endorsement, oil and gas excavation, construction or utility work, utility locating gear, and first aid, confined space or emergency response training
- Long hours and frequent weekend work, lifting up to 65 pounds
