What This Job Is
Welding and fabrication work in TTK’s shop out of Watford City, reporting to the welding and fabrication supervisor. Full time.
You build metal parts off blueprints and work orders: lay them out, fit them, MIG or TIG weld them, grind and finish, and test your own welds for strength and tolerance.
It takes at least 2 years of experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. TTK has housing available.
Duties
- Weld with no supervision: MIG and TIG welding, metal fabrication, grinding and finishing.
- Read blueprints, work orders and production schedules to know what each job calls for.
- Fabricate metal parts for later assembly, and source the right material for the job.
- Lay out, fit and join the parts, figuring your own measurements.
- Inspect, measure and test your finished work to make sure the welds hold strength and tolerance.
- Help the other fabricators, take on special projects for the shop manager, and keep your equipment and the shop clean and safe.
Where You’d Be
Watford City, North Dakota. TTK Enterprises is a locally owned, family operated outfit founded in 2019, running roustabout, construction, light civil, trucking, contract pumping and hydrovac crews across Western North Dakota.
$27 to $32 an hour.
TTK has housing available if you’re coming from out of the area.
What You Need
- At least 2 years of experience, with 3 or more preferred, ideally in manufacturing
- MIG and TIG welding, metal fabrication, grinding and finishing
- Able to read blueprints and welding symbols
- Comfortable on a computer for email, timekeeping and invoicing
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Able to pass a drug screen, MVR check and background check
- Loud work, usually outdoors and sometimes at a client’s site, with long hours and frequent weekend work, lifting up to 65 pounds and a respirator when required
